The
Diamond 'P' Ranch is located just two miles from the Continental Divide
and seven miles from the west entrance of Yellowstone National
Park. Views of mountains, meadows, and wooded hills dominate the
landscape. Highway 20 actually passes through this
huge ranch! The ranch's barns and corrals are
located about 1/4 of a mile north of the highway.
The Tom Angell family of the Halo Ranch Outfitters
operate the horseback riding business at the
ranch.

In 2007 the McMillan family who owns
West Yellowstone Rodeo Company,
moved their rodeo arena from West Yellowstone to a
location on the Diamond P Ranch which is just
south of the highway! On most Thursdays,
Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the summer they
produce a full fledged rodeo here! For
a fantastic evening, we highly recommend the
Diamond P Ranch's evening ride which gets back a
little after 7:00 and then attending the rodeo.
They have all
your favorite rodeo events include Bareback Bronc
Riding, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Team Roping,
Breakaway Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, and even
and event where kids get to compete, a calf
scramble!
Note: We do not encourage a package that includes the evening ride, hay ride, chuckwagon supper, and the rodeo!
To make sure you will have a seat, rodeo tickets
are available on line at: <http://www.yellowstonerodeo.com/prices.htm>

When not
at the rodeo grounds the bucking horses, bulls,
and roping cattle are pastured on the meadows of
the Diamond P Ranch. Some of our daily horseback tours actually ride out among this rodeo
stock.
(A great photo opportunity!)

The
Angell family, who owns the Halo Ranch Outfitters, were all
professional saddle bronc riders at one time, but they have all
"hung it up". Some of these "old bronc riders" are still team ropers
and in their spare time they train team roping horses to
sell. Do you know of anyone who needs one?
