Diamond 'P' Ranch

Daily horseback riding excursions near the Montana/Idaho border in the rugged mountain portion of Yellowstone Country. The rides begin at the  Diamond "P" Ranch  a huge, beautiful  ranch that sprawls out over a beautiful, high mountain valley just two miles from the Continental Divide!

The  ranch is located six miles east of Island Park, Idaho and seven miles west of West Yellowstone, Montana.   The Targhee Pass Highway, which connects Idaho and Montana, actually passes through the middle of some of the ranch's magnificent meadows. Although the main barns and corrals set majestically back up on a hill, they can actually be seen from the main highway. All rides are in the mountains that surround the ranch.

MOUNTAIN HALF-DAY TRIP
(Morning)
$57.60

(Mount at 9:50 a.m.)
These trips are the most beautiful rides in the world! The trails are steep, but not dangerous. We ride up onto the high mountain ridges and down into the deep ravines. We usually see wildlife and even in late summer there are still wild-flowers blooming up that high! These rides are fantastic!  We conduct our rides to satisfy the desires of our guests which include things like rate of travel. In many cases, however, there will be some trotting on the morning rides.                                             Bring your camera!
      MOUNTAIN HALF-DAY TRIP
                       (Afternoon)

$57.60
(Mount at 1:30 p.m.)
Numerous different areas are offered on the afternoon trips. These areas range from the high mountain trails offered on the morning ride to lower mountain and meadow trails. They can follow the streams that flow down from the Continental Divide or they can travel back into the heavy forests.
Because of the vast area, your guide will strive to give you the type of experience that you want, including how much time you actually want to spend in the saddle. The actual time on the afternoon ride is often a little longer; we usually travel a little slower and spend more time enjoying the beautiful country and taking pictures.
During mid-summer, the cattle are moved from one low-land grazing area to another. Depending on where the livestock are grazing, guests often choose to stop and take pictures with the livestock in the background.
    EVENING TWO HOUR RIDE  $47.60
(Mount at 5:00 p.m.)
The evening rides are casual and thoroughly enjoyed by all ages of riders, including Grandpa and Grandma! Some time is spent riding along the streams that flow down through the meadows and some of the time on the (non-motorized vehicle)  forest trails.
EVENING TWO HOUR RIDE FOLLOWED BY HAY RIDE & CHUCKWAGON SUPPER  $67.60
(Mount at 5:00 p.m.)
After returning from the evening horseback ride, guests that choose to add the meal will say goodbye to their horses,  climb aboard a hay wagon and travel on an old stage coach road to a chuckwagon steak supper. click: For Details
