<>Outdoor Club Field Trip horseback Rides for Outdoors Clubs, Scout Groups, and other membership type organizations
halo Ranch Outfitters of Island Park.
This section of the Halo Ranch web site is devoted to:
<>The Tom Angell family of St. Anthony, own the Halo Ranch Outfitters who operate the Diamond 'P' Ranch which is located  between  Island Park, ID. and West Yellowstone, MontanaTo accommodate the increasing demand for recreational type rides for different school clubs, 4H groups, etc.  The Halo Ranch Outfitters offer guided horseback rides similar to the education rides but a specific teaching area is not specified as they are with the science classes.  Instead, the advisors and club leaders visit with the owners of the Halo Ranch Outfitters, and a plan is developed to fit the wants and wishes of the group.
In the spring, before the snow is completely melted in the Island Park/Yellowstone Area, the rides are conducted on Juniper Mountain, which is located in Lower Fremont County, just north of the ever popular Sand Dunes.  Juniper Mountain is a beautiful place to ride in the spring. The Island Park elk and deer herds winter in this area, but as the snow line retreats in the spring, the deer and elk pretty well follow the snow.

This is a family operated business.  Most members of the Angell family have valid teaching certificates, or are employed in educational institutions.

<>1. Many high school instructors bring their classes to the ranch for an educational type field trip, one in which the instructor has asked for certain areas to be stressed and emphasized.

2. Some instructors bring their classes to the ranch for just a  recreational type field trip, with no emphasis on any particular teaching area.

If so desired, the wranglers and guides can give the group some roping lessons

There are horses for all levels of ability including no experience at all!
If the group would like to, they can actually help curry, brush, and saddle the horses!

Lots of Wildlife

Wildlife to be seen.  We never know where the animals will be for sure.

If so desired, these guided rides can  emphasize the fascinating ecology of the local plants and animals in the surrounding environment.
