LEASING HORSES

The Halo Ranch Outfitters have horses for lease or rent. Whether it's one day or an entire season. we can accomodate all of your rental horse riding needs. Lease horses for hunting, fishing,exploration,or just for pleasure.  Guest ranches and  trail concessionaires lease horses that can safely be worked into their operation.  They supplement their existing string or even lease an entire string of proven mountain horses. Our lease horses have all been used in a guest ranch type environment. We encourage potential leasers to come try out the hores before they lease them.                    

Saddles and other necessary tack are available as well as transportation. Short term leased horse are already shod and shoeing is available for long term leased horses.

 TRAIL RIDES

The Trail Rides of the Halo Ranch Outfitters start at the Ranch. For some rides the horses are saddled there and then transported to different locations in the mountains. Some of the riding areas are near the Continental Divide and close to the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Some of the rides are on the Juniper Mountains which are just 12 miles from the home ranch. Guests meet the guides at the trail heads and the ride take the better part of a day.                                                                                  
One of the most popular guided rides is actually on the Halo Ranch!  This ride is only about an hour and a half long and it's mainly in the pastures and along the streams. There are no steep trails, but there are some creek crossings.  Time is spent at the beginning of the ride going over good, safe, riding practices.  Riders who have never ridden before will feel comfortable on these rides. Dependable, easy-going horses are used and the rate of travel is casual; this is a great family style ride and the rates are a real bargain!  Advanced reservations are necessary but can be made just two hours before the ride.
